I love movie poster art. I love the styles of Impressionism as well as expressionism. Jim Dine’s, Jasper John’s, and Edvard Munch’s styles can all be seen in this piece. Our liberties are given up most of the time unbeknownst to us. I wanted this piece to represent the fact that our voice is being taken away by our politicians, sometimes without us knowing and sometimes in the guise of safety or their option of what is best for us. This is one of my favorite pieces to date. I used oil on canvas and experimented with epoxy over the font.
