Description

This motif was born many years ago from an epiphany about how my family, community and interpersonal connection are a central part of joy. I had been traveling and studying away from home for 2 years, across Thailand, Central America and New York. I spent a final evening of my first undergraduate year in Ithaca with a group of friends when I came to this design as a motif and reminder of the joys friends and family bring into our lives. This is the first time I have renovated this design since I first conceived of it 13 years ago. This work is a reminder to seek family and community support in times of blues and you will find yourself in the laughing sounds and colors of Smiles Davis.
