Description
According to Jewish culture, the world was created on Rosh Hashanah. First, there was total darkness at the bottom. Then light was created. next water and land came about. next three lines, gold, silver, and copper represent types of people rich, middle, and poor. Customs on Rosh Hashana include apples with honey for a healthy sweet new year and pomegranates to be full of good deeds. On the plate, I painted the sun earth, and some planets to represent the year as Earth goes around the sun. The figure on the left side announces the coming of the new year by sounding a shofar. The background is the hills of Jerusalem at sunset. This is a small but lively painting.
