Description

When Great Egrets first take flight, their wings draw in and encircle them in a graceful, ballerina-like movement.  Ever since I first saw it I knew I had to try to capture it on camera. Over the course of several months, on every visit to the Everglades National Park, I would try to photograph it. I finally found the perfect spot and that had a bird close enough. I patiently watched this Great Egret hunting for small fish for over an hour waiting before being able to capture Lift Off.
