Description

We occasionally see a Golden Eagle at our farm feasting on a dead animal while fending off other birds of prey. They are massive with a wing span of between 6-7 feet and can carry up to 8 pounds while in flight.

The golden eagle is long-lived, with a life span in the wild believed to be 30 years or more. It is also believed a pair mates for life and defends a selected territory against other golden eagles. Such a beautiful strong bird!
